• A Su-bu Is Needed
  • In October 1907, Cha Gyung-suk accompanied Sahng-jeh-nim to Dae-heung Village from Nohng-ba-ooh Village.
  • On the way, they stopped in Haeng-dahn Village, where Sahng-jeh-nim said to him, “My work can only be done with the participation of a su-bu. If you truly wish to take part in this work, recommend a su-bu.”
  • Choosing the One to Be the Su-bu
  • On another occasion, Sahng-jeh-nim said to Gyung-suk, “A su-bu is needed for the work of renewal to proceed in the proper order. Because there is no su-bu, many of the works of renewal are being delayed.” Sahng-jeh-nim charged him with an urgent mandate,
  • “Yin or yang alone cannot accomplish anything. There are mountains of crucial work for which the su-bu will be responsible. Choose the one to be the su-bu as soon as possible.”
  • Gyung-suk eventually thought of his recently widowed cousin, Go Pahl-lyeh.
  • When he told Sahng-jeh-nim about Her, Sahng-jeh-nim urged him, “She was nearby all along, but was not chosen until now. Arrange it immediately. Otherwise, there will be a delay in the work of renewal.”
  • When Gyung-suk brought up the matter with his cousin, She gladly agreed.
