• Gim Byung-ook, Gim Yoon-chahn,
    and Suh Wun-gyu Become Disciples
  • In January 1903, Sahng-jeh-nim went to Jeonju County to stay with herbalist Suh Wun-gyu. In that year, Suh Wun-gyu, Gim Byung-ook, Gim Yoon-chahn, and others became disciples.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim spent most of the year there and in Ha-oon Village, curing many people. People were amazed that He could heal the sick instantly without any medicine.
  • One day, a disciple asked, “What is the best way to cast aside iniquity and live a good life?”
  • “Be sincere, attentive, and faithful,” Sahng-jeh-nim said. “Do not deceive yourself, and do not harm any living thing.
  • Do not harm relationships between people, and do not misguide people.
  • Do not commit adultery, and do not be obsessed with possessions.
  • Be satisfied with what life provides you, and cultivate your mind.
  • Always keep your mind sincere, and every day endeavor to bestow virtue upon many.”
