• Circulating the Water Qi
  • Sahng-jeh-nim once said, “Korea is shaped like a winter melon. It is approaching death because its roots are depleted of water qi.
  • I will go to the original source, Baek-du Mountain, and circulate the water qi.”
  • A Work of Renewal on Baek-du Mountain
  • One day, Sahng-jeh-nim went to Baek-du Mountain with Hyung-yul and Ho-yun.
  • He said to Ho-yun, “This is Baek-du Mountain.” She found it to be a high mountain with a white top like a bald head.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim carried her on His back, humming as He went along. It seemed to Ho-yun that He was merely walking, but instantly they arrived at the mountain top.
  • She felt as though she could see all of heaven and earth from the mountain. Its summit held a huge lake.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim sat on a peak facing the lake, and He seated Hyung-yul and Ho-yun on other peaks. Though Sahng-jeh-nim was far from them, they could see Him as if He were beside them.
  • 10 Pointing to one peak, Sahng-jeh-nim called out a name; a big crane as white as snow came out of the side of the peak, stretched its wings, and soared into the sky.
  • 11 A reddish gold bird came out of another peak, a blue bird came out of yet another peak, and each soared into the sky.
  • 12 All of them then landed on the calm water of the lake and awaited Sahng-jeh-nim’s command.
  • 13 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “When the world is turned upside down, this mountain and that mountain will meet as if waking from sleep.”
  • 14 He then called out some generals’ names and said something that Hyung-yul and Ho-yun could not understand.
  • Singing and Dancing
  • 15 Sahng-jeh-nim said to the three great birds on the lake, “How can you remain still, having met each other? Why not dance?”
  • 16 One of the birds stretched out its right wing and the others followed. They danced with their wings.
  • 17 Keeping time by clapping His hands, Sahng-jeh-nim sang a song. He had Hyung-yul take the second part, and together they sang with joy.
  • 18 “Let us enjoy ourselves,” Sahng-jeh-nim said, “without worrying about formalities or about who is higher or lower.” And He sang and danced in delight.
  • 19 Hyung-yul kept time, and the birds splashed the water several times then rose into the air. Circling around, they danced in the sky.
  • 20 All the trees on the mountain danced as if waving their arms. Even the grass danced, swaying to the rhythm.
  • 21 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Following My lead, all of you are dancing.”
  • 22 After returning home from Baek-du Mountain, He said, “By circulating the water qi, I allowed it to be revived.”
