    道有德
    德有化
    化有育
    育有蒼生
    蒼生有億兆
    億兆有願戴
    願戴有唐堯
  • 2 Since ancient times it has been said: There is dao;
  • 3 within dao there is virtue;
  • 4 from virtue there is edification;
  • 5 from edification there is growth;
  • 6 with growth there are people;
  • 7 from people there are multitudes;
  • 8 there is one person the multitudes would want to uphold;
  • 9 they would uphold a sage king like Yao.”
