• Gim Byung-ook’s Trouble
  • Starting in April 1903, Gim Byung-ook worked as a tax collector in Nahm-wun County.
  • In that year, the Korean court, which had made an alliance with Russia to hold Japan in check,
  • accused Bahk Yung-hyo, who had fled to Japan, and his organization of being Japanese sympathizers and began arresting and executing them.
  • Byung-ook was also implicated, and in October, many policemen came from the capital in search of him.
