• Deciding the Great Destiny of Korea and the World
  • In February, after spending a few days in Gu-rit-gohl Village, Sahng-jeh-nim prepared to leave for Seoul.
  • He said, “I will have a warship go to Soon-chahng County. Hyung-yul, guard this area well and do not treat anything lightly.”
  • Speaking to the whole group, He said, “This work is to decide the great destiny of the world. I want all of you to write your wishes on clean paper.” After they had written their wishes, Sahng-jeh-nim used the paper to wrap a pair of eyeglasses.
  • He said that Jung Nahm-ghee, Jung Sung-baek, Gim Gahp-chil, Gim Gwahng-chahn, and Gim Byung-sun were to go with Him to Goon-sahn County and board a passenger ship.
  • He told Shin Wun-il and four others to take the train from Taejeon.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Now, I am about to set right the destiny of Korea. We will advance by land and by sea at the same time.”
  • He said to Wun-il, “With your party, go to Seoul ahead of us. When you get there, write, ‘the emperor floats upon the sea (天子浮海上)’ on a piece of paper and post it on the South Gate.”
  • Wun-il left for Taejeon, taking the others with him.
