- Temporarily Withdrawing Korea’s Control over Its Destiny
- 1 While staying near Hwahng Bridge, Sahng-jeh-nim opened the gate of the spirit world and conducted a great work of renewing heaven and earth.
- 2 The disciples all refrained from smoking in obedience to His command.
- 3 Sahng-jeh-nim declared, “Now, I will withdraw Joseon’s destiny and temporarily entrust it to Japan. Chey Su-oon will bear witness to this.”
- 4 A disciple asked, “Why are You withdrawing Joseon’s destiny?”
- 5 “I am doing it because the heavenly authority to govern the world lies in the East, but Chey Su-oon was executed. The people of Korea pray to heaven about their faltering country’s destiny.”
- 6 Another disciple asked, “Why is the death of Chey Su-oon so grave?”
- 7 “If the affairs of the Early Heaven leading to disaster were left unchecked, it would be very difficult to save the human world. The spirits in heaven and earth came up to the ninth heaven and pleaded to Me about this.
- 8 Unable to refuse their plea, I decided to come down to this world,
- 9 and so I commanded Su-oon to proclaim My advent. But the Korean government executed him, outraging all the spirits in heaven and earth.”
