- Use the Tae-eul Mantra at the Time of Gae-byuk
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim told His disciples, “The Shee-chun-ju Mantra, taught by Chey Su-oon, contains fifty years of study in conveying truth.
- 2 Also, Gim Gyung-su received the Tae-eul Mantra after fifty years of study and practice.
- 3 The spirit who brought it to him said, ‘This mantra will save many people.’
- 4 Which of the two mantras, both containing fifty years of study, do you think should be used in this age of spirits?”
“Please do as You see fit,” Gim Gwahng-chahn replied.
- 5 “Since the Shee-chun-ju Mantra has already been utilized,” Sahng-jeh-nim said, “use the Tae-eul Mantra.
- 6 Add the verse Hoom-chee Hoom-chee to the mantra and chant it.” Sahng-jeh-nim added the two lines of Hoom-chee to the written mantra, making it look like a spoon.

- 7 On another occasion, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “The Tae-eul Mantra stores water qi, and the Shee-chun-ju Mantra is the foundation of heaven and earth.”

Conveying the Teachings with the Tae-eul Mantra
- 8 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Convey the teachings using the Tae-eul Mantra. Each of you, convey the teachings to one thousand people.”
- 9 Though all other disciples answered that this was impossible, Ja-hyun and Hyung-yul said, “Yes, we will do so.”
- 10 Sahng-jeh-nim explained, “It is easy. First, you convey it to seven people, and then each of them conveys it to seven others. One thousand people may seem like many, but once you have started, it is easy.”
- 11 He also said, “It is only through the Tae-eul Mantra that virtue spreads across the world and human life is saved everywhere.
- 12 Tae-eul Mantra study is the study of governing the world.”
