- Be Mindful of Casual Speech
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim said to the disciples, “Be mindful of casual speech. After you eat a meal of nourishing food, you blurt out, ‘My stomach is so full it’s killing me.’
- 2 After working hard so you can live well, you say, ‘I am dead tired.’
- 3 “We live in a time when things happen according to what is said. How can you avoid death when disease becomes rampant?
- 4 Do not say things such as ‘My stomach is killing me,’ or ‘I am dying of laughter.’”
