• Be Mindful of Casual Speech
  • One day, Sahng-jeh-nim said to the disciples, “Be mindful of casual speech. After you eat a meal of nourishing food, you blurt out, ‘My stomach is so full it’s killing me.’
  • After working hard so you can live well, you say, ‘I am dead tired.’
  • “We live in a time when things happen according to what is said. How can you avoid death when disease becomes rampant?
  • Do not say things such as ‘My stomach is killing me,’ or ‘I am dying of laughter.’”
