- The Gate of Heaven Closes
- 1 When Sahng-jeh-nim ascended and the gate of heaven closed, there was thunder intense enough to shake the earth. The wind and rain grew stronger.
- 2 A bolt of lightning shot into the room where Ho-yun was, and the room’s door flew open.
- 3 “Don’t go up. Take me with You,” she cried and ran outside without her shoes.
- 4 Out in the storm, the disciples filled the yard and the narrow alley. Some were on their knees and others stood gazing at the sky. They all wept mournfully.
- 5 A while later, the weather cleared, and rainbow-colored clouds appeared in the sky. It seemed as if there had not been a storm.
- 6 When Ho-yun went inside to see Sahng-jeh-nim, Hyung-yul told her, “He has already left.”
- 7 She thought that Sahng-jeh-nim had used His power of creative change to visit heaven, temporarily leaving His body behind.
- 8 Touching Sahng-jeh-nim and caressing His face, she murmured, “Could it be true?” She pressed her cheek against His.
- 9 “His spiritual body has left,” Hyung-yul said.
