- 1 “To obtain the qi of life in this turbulent and corrupt world, set your mind right, purify your qi, practice dao in earnest, and bring yourself to a state of peace.
- 2 Those who are overcome with the five desires and are unable to free themselves from the anguish caused by these desires will have difficulty surviving. Their bones will twist when the Jade-Hinged Gate opens.”
- Those Creating Confusing Dharmas
- 3 “Those who act on their own with ways outside My dao, thus creating confusing dharmas and distorting dao, will not be able to face Me in the coming days.”
- Behave as if Ignorant
- 4 “Those who pretend to have knowledge will die. Even what you do know, pretend not to know. Behave as if you are ignorant.
- 5 Regardless of what others may think, only that which is of substance matters.
- 6 If you plant a beautiful flower by the roadside, any passerby, young or old, can pick it.”
