  • One day, when Sahng-jeh-nim was lying down in a room, the disciples saw a swallow fly into a spider web. They thought it incredible that a bird could get caught in a web.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Look at that. Once caught in a spider web, a dragonfly, a butterfly, or even that bird becomes food for the spider and gets torn apart and eaten. It is also like that for people if they are caught in the wrong place.”
  • He continued, “Even a spider has to use its talent to get a meal.
  • When you earn your own meals, there is no trouble. Eating what others have earned is the same as stealing. This is the way of the world.”
