- 1 “Whether they are My parent, sibling, child, or wife, no one can understand My work.

- 3 Spirits in heaven and earth entreated Me to address the deep suffering of humans and spirits.
- 4 After delegating the affairs of heaven to the officials of heaven’s court,
- 5 I descended to the canopy tower in the West, traveled the world, and observed the comforts and concerns of humanity.
- 6 “Then, because I have an affinity with this Eastern land, I came here and stayed at the Maitreya statue of Geum-sahn Temple for thirty years. There, I bestowed upon Chey Su-oon a heavenly mandate and Spirit Teaching.
- 7 Because the Korean government executed Su-oon, I came to this world as a human. In accordance with the eight trigrams, I was born in 1871, the eighth year from 1864.”
