• A Man’s Eye Disease Is Cured
  • One day in May 1906, accompanied by Gim Gwahng-chahn, Sahng-jeh-nim went to Ee Bohng-hyun’s house in Im-pee Township.
  • A neighbor, Ee Myung-taek, who suffered from an eye disease, asked Sahng-jeh-nim for a cure.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim had him drink some rice wine, and then Sahng-jeh-nim wrote something on white paper, rolled it up tightly, and touched Myung-taek’s eyes with it. Tears ran from his eyes, and he was soon cured.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim pointed to the eastern sky. “Look up there.” Everyone present looked up and saw bright stars shining in broad daylight.
  • Blessed with Good Health and Longevity
  • Sahng-jeh-nim left Bohng-hyun’s house after staying several days.
  • On His way out, He said, “I am sorry to have burdened your family so much. I have nothing to repay you with, but I will grant your sickly mother good health for the rest of her life.”
  • Sahng-jeh-nim had someone bring Him a piece of green bamboo, which He then cut exactly the same length as His foot. He wrote something on a piece of paper, wound it around the bamboo, laid it on the ground in front of the gate, and covered both ends with sand.
  • 10 He said to Bohng-hyun, “You will see something here tonight.” That night, auspicious qi arose from where the bamboo was laid and stretched as bright as moonlight far into the sky.
  • 11 From then on, Bohng-hyun’s mother was full of vitality. Never sick again, she lived to be over eighty.
