- Sahng-jeh-nim’s Compassion for Farmhands
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim met a farmhand who was returning home from harvesting the fields. The man struggled under the load on his back, which appeared too heavy for him.
- 2 Sahng-jeh-nim flicked His finger toward the farmhand, making him fall down,
- 3 then shouldered the load for him and carried it to the farmhand’s home.
- 4 One night, Sahng-jeh-nim went out to cut down rice stalks and spread them in the field. When He returned early in the morning,
- 5 Ho-yun asked, “Why did You do someone else’s work?”
“I have compassion for the farmhands,” said Sahng-jeh-nim.
- 6 “You do not know Me. You do not know My mind. All matters in heaven and earth are My concern.”
