• Gim Bo-gyung Is Cured
  • On September 14, Sahng-jeh-nim went to Gim Bo-gyung’s house in Hwey-sun Village, Hahm-yul Township, and was greeted by a dog barking furiously.
  • Bo-gyung, who was bedridden with a serious illness, asked to be cured.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim smiled and said, “Do not worry. I have already transferred your disease to the dog.” As predicted, Bo-gyung was cured, and three days later, the dog died.
  • On another occasion, Bo-gyung said to Him, “These days, bandits running rampant in this area rob villages every night.
  • Though I am not well off, people think I am a rich man. I never feel at ease. Please protect me from being robbed.”
  • “Thieves want others’ property and valuables for no good reason,” Sahng-jeh-nim said. “They harm the innocent and eventually get themselves killed. I will have them work hard as farmers so that they can live on what they themselves produce.”
  • Smiling, He spat on the ground outside the door. “Rest assured, the bandits will go away of their own accord.”
  • From then on, there were no more bandits in the area.
  • Rotten Confucianism
  • That month, while staying with Bo-gyung, Sahng-jeh-nim told him to write the words Confucianism, Buddhism, and Immortalism.
  • 10 He then told the disciples present to point to one of the three. Bo-gyung pointed to Buddhism, and someone else pointed to Confucianism.
  • 11 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Confucianism is rotten Confucianism.”
