• The Spirits of Ministers and Generals Do Not Respond
  • Before all of this, Sahng-jeh-nim had saved a small amount of money to use during this time of trouble and had told Gim Gahp-chil, “Send this money to Cha Gyung-suk.”
  • The man who Gahp-chil entrusted with delivering the money ran away with it in the middle of the crisis. Gahp-chil chased him, took back the money, and brought it to Gyung-suk.
  • Gyung-suk used the money to buy clothes, blankets, and food and sent them to the prison.
  • On the last night of December, as thunder and lightning filled the sky, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “This signifies that the spirits of sovereigns are coming over from the West.”
  • He continued, “The spirits of sovereigns have arrived, but the spirits of ministers and generals do not respond because you wavered in devotion.”
