• Sahng-jeh-nim Brings His Father Back to Life
  • In 1908, the Sacred Father fell ill and passed away.
  • Hwahng Eung-johng rushed to Gu-rit-gohl Village to inform Sahng-jeh-nim, but he was told there that Sahng-jeh-nim was in Hwa-jung Village of Go-sahn County.
  • Eung-johng left for the village, which was eighty lee away.
  • Upon arriving, he met Sahng-jeh-nim and told Him of His father’s death.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim offered Eung-johng a drink, handed him ten nyahng, and said, “I know it is late in the day, but I want you to return immediately. Do not bear any ill feeling about this task. On your way, you can sleep at Gim Sohng-hwahn’s house in Chung-doh-wun Village.
  • Tomorrow morning, go to Gim Gahp-chil’s house in Gu-rit-gohl Village, and from there, take one of My ramie long coats. Then, go back to My father’s house and put it on him.
  • When he wakes up, serve him something nourishing. You can buy it with this money.”
  • The sun had already started to set, but Eung-johng did not dare disobey Sahng-jeh-nim, so he began walking. Strangely, the sun remained in the same place throughout the journey.
  • Within less than two hours, he arrived at a sign on the side of the road. Reading that sign, he realized that he was already in Chung-doh-wun Village.
  • 10 Amazed, he thought, “From Go-sahn to here is eighty lee. It must be my Teacher’s power that has brought me here so fast.”
  • 11 When he arrived at Sohng-hwahn’s house, the sun quickly set and night fell.
  • 12 He slept there and the next morning went to Gu-rit-gohl Village to pick up Sahng-jeh-nim’s long coat.
  • 13 When the coat was put on the Sacred Father, he soon came back to life,
  • 14 and after eating, he regained his strength.
