- Founding Kings and Great Generals
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim said to the disciples, “Write the names of all the great generals of the past.”
- 2 Gyung-suk asked, “Can a founding king be considered a great general?”
“Yes, he can.”
- 3 Gyung-suk wrote the names of all the founding kings and great generals, ending with the name Jun Bohng-joon.
- 4 “Why did you write his name last?” Sahng-jeh-nim asked.
Gyung-suk explained, “When you read it from the left, he becomes the first.”
- 5 “You are correct,” said Sahng-jeh-nim. “Jun Bohng-joon truly is among the greatest generals of the ages.
- 6 Rising from being a poor scholar dressed in white, he shook the whole world.”
