- The Mountains Cry Before Sahng-jeh-nim’s Arrival
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim went to a southern country with Hyung-yul and Ho-yun.
- 2 People there had red skin and wore dark blue shirts and short pants.
- 3 They had black paint on their faces and shaved the tops of their heads, which they decorated with feathers on either side.
- 4 They lived in a village of huts near a river.
- 5 Upon Sahng-jeh-nim’s arrival, they told Him that, for a few days, the mountains near the village had been crying out with a metallic sound: wing wing.
- 6 They said the mountains had cried out like that because the Lord of Heaven would arrive. Everyone in their houses and on the road bowed toward Sahng-jeh-nim.
- 7 Ho-yun could not understand their language until Sahng-jeh-nim opened her ears to it.
- 8 When Sahng-jeh-nim, Hyung-yul, and Ho-yun returned to Korea, they first went to Pyongyang and then to Jeonju.
