- 1 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “If you neglect to cultivate yourself and you transgress, you will be like iron melting in a hot crucible.
- 2 Feel comfortable with being foolish, destitute, humble, and weak, and never transgress.
- 3 Strive every day to cultivate virtue and renew yourself.”
- Do Not Think of Resolved Transgressions
- 4 Cha Gyung-suk was troubled as he contemplated his past misdeeds.
- 5 Sahng-jeh-nim said to him, “I have told you before, ‘In front of Me, bring to mind your transgressions one by one and release them.’ Yet, you have kept them in your mind. Do not think of them anymore.
- 6 If you have committed other misdeeds, resolve them all. Should even one be left, it will badly affect your body and your life.”
