- 1 In January 1907, Sahng-jeh-nim said to Hyung-yul,
- 2 “With words I comfort people’s minds, with words I raise the sick, with words I redeem those who have committed wrongs.
- 3 My words are medicine.
- 4 There is a saying:
- 良藥 苦口 利於病
忠言 逆耳 利於行
- Good medicine is bitter to the taste,
but beneficial in fighting disease.
- Honest advice is hard on the ears,
but beneficial in improving one’s ways.
- Have faith in My words.
- 5 My words permeate the nine heavens and do not fall on the ground for even a moment. They fit together like the two parts of a seal.”
