- Korea Is Temporarily Placed in Japan’s Care
- 2 Then, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “If I put the West in charge of Korea, the great difference in race would lead to much discrimination and abuse. Koreans would not survive.
- 3 I cannot put China in charge of Korea, because the Chinese people lack the ability to complete the task.
- 4 There has been enmity between the dao mastery spirits of Japan and Korea since the Japanese invasion in 1592. Handing over Korea to Japan would resolve Japan’s vengeful energy.
- 5 Upon Japan, I will temporarily bestow the power of world unification and the qi of the great brightness of the sun and moon. I will let them play a great role in the world.
- 6 But there is one thing I cannot grant them. That is humaneness (仁).
- 7 If I grant them humaneness, the whole world will be theirs.
- 8 I will grant it to you, the people of Korea. Cherish it well.
- 9 You will rest as the Japanese work for you.
- 10 They will handle all things well, and when they return to their country, they will leave empty-handed, having not even received wages. At least treat them with generous words.”
