• Sahng-jeh-nim and Su-bu-nim Exchange Vows
  • One day, when Sahng-jeh-nim was conducting a work of renewal in Cha Gyung-suk’s house in Dae-heung Village, He had the disciples sit in a large room.
  • He ordered Gyung-suk, “Ask the Su-bu to come out here.” When She came out, Sahng-jeh-nim had Her lie on the floor, and then He sat on Her stomach. He said, “Gyung-suk, bring Me a knife.”
  • Holding the knife to Su-bu-nim’s throat, Sahng-jeh-nim asked, “Are You certain You will not change Your mind in the middle of the great work of heaven and earth?”
  • “Yes,” She replied. “Why would I ever change My mind?” Hearing this, Sahng-jeh-nim joyfully said, “This is just as I had thought.”
  • Next, Sahng-jeh-nim Himself lay down and said to Su-bu-nim, “Sit on My stomach and ask Me for the same confirmation.”
  • When this ceremony of exchanging vows was over, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “In the great dao of heaven and earth, this has been the work of renewal for appointing the su-bu.
  • It had to be done this way for Us to become the Parents of All People.”
  • 10 Shortly after, Sahng-jeh-nim shouted as if to bring down the sky, “Let Us become one as husband and wife!” The disciples, who had been sitting solemnly, were shocked.
  • 11 Then, He said, “Those who wish to know who I am must be at least half enlightened.”
  • 12 From then on, Sahng-jeh-nim taught Su-bu-nim everything. Sometimes, He would even have Her hold the brush when He made written commands.
  • 13 He sat closely behind Her and held Her wrist as She wrote.
