- A Work of Renewal for Sahng-jeh-nim’s Portrait
- 1 While staying at Gyung-suk’s house, Sahng-jeh-nim drew the shape of a person, pasted it on a wall as a spirit tablet, and made preparations as if for memorial rites.
- 2 He then said to the disciples, “Do the embracing-heaven-and-caressing-earth bow four times and silently pray for what you wish.” Facing the disciples, Sahng-jeh-nim stood in front of the picture.
- 3 When the ceremony was over, He asked, “Whom did you pray to?”
- 4 “We prayed to You,” the disciples replied.
- 5 Sahng-jeh-nim laughed. “While still alive, I received memorial rites. This is how it will be in the future.”
- 6 He then said, “I have received four bows, and I will bow once.” Then, He bowed.
