- Sahng-jeh-nim’s Chee-sungs to Heaven
- 1 When Sahng-jeh-nim made an offering, He seldom placed the offering table inside. Instead, He would put it outside in the yard.
- 2 One day, watching food being laid out on the table, Ho-yun asked Sahng-jeh-nim, “Why do You put only the head of the animal there? Why not the whole thing?”
- 3 “The head is primary,” Sahng-jeh-nim answered. “Offering the head is the same as offering the whole body. Spirits consider the head to be the best.”
- 4 In chee-sungs to heaven in which food was offered, Sahng-jeh-nim used animal heads, alcohol, rice, and fresh water.
