- Using Change Through Non-Action to Solve Problems
- 1 When Ee Myung-gwun of Ohk-gu County visited Tae-mo-nim, She asked him, “Why are you an unwelcome guest in your own house?”
- 2 “That is not so,” he answered.
“Ask your wife,” Tae-mo-nim said.
- 3 As he was leaving, Tae-mo-nim said in a faint voice, “There goes a man with an empty load on his back.”
- 4 Upon returning home, he told his wife of his meeting with Tae-mo-nim and said, “I don’t understand what She meant.”
- 5 Unknown to Myung-gwun, his wife had been having an affair with a follower named Gahng.
- 6 But after what Tae-mo-nim had said, they became fearful of being caught and decided to end the affair.
- 7 In this manner, Tae-mo-nim solved problems by using change through non-action whether they concerned relationships between men and women, a person’s longevity, people’s wealth or poverty, or advances and setbacks in a person’s meditation practice.
- 8 She was knowledgeable in all matters.
- In Accepting New Followers
- 9 When Tae-mo-nim accepted new followers, She first renewed them by relieving them of all misfortunes. They could not express their overwhelming gratitude.
- 10 She drove away the vengeful spirits that came with them,
- 11 healed any illness they had, and removed all other obstacles that could block their paths. After this, She allowed them to follow Her.
